Michell SD Taxidermist Chad Pollreisz's Wild Spirit Taxidermy
The Beginning

I started down the path to becoming a taxidermist in 2000. I always loved taxidermy work but did not have any of my own.  That was supposed to change when I killed my first buck with my bow in 2000.  After calling every taxidermist in the phone book and only getting two to actually answer their phones I settled on one.  Unfortunately it was the wrong choice.  After being very disappointed by him I decided to take matters in my own hands and learn how to do my own mounts.

Going To School

In the fall of 2001 I took a course in taxidermy.  Before I even got home from school I had work lining up from family and friends.  The more I did the better I got and the more the word got out.  Before I knew it I was spending nearly every weekend working on mounts.   I was going to have to make a choise between my full time job and taxidermy.

Taking The Plunge

In the fall of 2010 the time was right to make the move. I left my full time time job of 19 years to become a full time taxidermist.  I opened up my shop in January 2011.  Since then I have been rapidly outgrowing my converted garage and now I am looking forward to expanding.
